SILICONE RTV RUBBER

Shin-Etsu Silicone's electrical, electronic and general industrial use RTV rubber, in liquid or paste form, has been developed primarily, sealing, and potting of electrical and electronic equipment.

As electrical and electronic equipment becomes smaller, lighter, and more sophisticated, ever higher quality and performance is required of their structural components and materials, Shin-Etsu Silicone's high performance RTV rubber products can meet a wide variety of needs, offering outstanding heat and low temperature resistance, weather resistance, and electrical properties.

Our wide range of products contributes to increased reliability of electrical and electronic equipment and communications equipment.

1. One-Component RTV Rubber

One-Component RTV silicone rubber compound, work can begin as soon as the product is ejected from its tube or cartridge. These products become elastics rubbers after curing, and adhere well to almost all materials as they cure. These properties make one-component RTV silicone rubbers suitable for a wide range of applications.

Properties

  • Electrical properties
They have outstanding electrical properties, in  terms of volume resistivity and ability to withstand high voltage.
  • Heat and cold resistance
They can be used over a wide temperature range.
  • Shock resistance

The cured rubber have excellent rubber elasticity and absorb vibration and shock.

  • Weather resistance

One-component RTV rubber exhibit almost no deterioration when exposed to the outdoor elements for long periods, because they have outstanding resistance to UV rays, ozone and moisture

  • Workability

These product are easy to use, because they can be ejected from their tubes (or other containers) and used immediately.

2. One-Component RTV Rubber

A two-component RTV silicone rubber compounds cures by adding a specified amount of a curing agent to the base compound. Like one-component RTV rubbers, two-component RTV rubbers have outstanding electrical properties and resistance to heat and cold, while also offering improved deep-section curability and storage stability.

Properties

  • Properties identical to those of one-component RTV rubbers

Electrical properties, heat and cold resistance, shock resistance, weather resistance, curing characteristics, etc.

  • Deep-section curability

The curing reaction proceeds uniformly at the surface and internally, regardless of rubber thickness

  • Adjustability of cure speed

Cure time can be adjusted by changing the type or quantity of curing agent, or by heating

  • Storability

The base compound and curing agent are stored separately, so the product will not become unusable due to curing during storage. Two-component RTV rubber can be stored for long periods.
